DJ Henson

D.J. is a multi-instrumentalist and jazz musician from Pueblo, CO. He is currently a student at Colorado State University - Pueblo, where he studies music education, saxophone, and bassoon. D.J. also doubles on flute, clarinet, and oboe, and is starting a woodwind studio of his own to teach younger students.

In addition to Portraits of Change, D.J. also plays in the horn section with Sally Majestic, a reggæ/ska band from Fort Worth, TX; with the summer musical in Pueblo; and regularly collaborates with both student musicians and professional artists. He has performed in the orchestra for the premières of two original operas by Dr. David Volk.

D.J.’s ultimate career goal is to teach music at the college level. He hopes to teach classes such as applied saxophone, woodwind techniques, and jazz ensembles.
